London — Samsung prepares to host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026, where the tech giant is widely anticipated to unveil its latest generation of foldable smartphones and smartwatches. The company, having already launched its Galaxy S26 lineup earlier this year, directs the spotlight towards these innovative devices, with the event streaming live from London.
Anticipated Foldable Innovations
Leaks preceding the Unpacked event suggest a significant design overhaul for Samsung's foldable phones, notably the introduction of an entirely new aspect ratio. While the current Galaxy Z Fold 7 maintains a slim profile, resembling a standard smartphone when closed, a rumored "wide" Galaxy Z Fold 8 could adopt a more passport-like form factor. This design, as it stands, might enhance video viewing when the device is open, potentially mirroring Apple's own rumored foldable. Consumers can expect this new model alongside the Galaxy Flip 8 and a "Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra," which is projected to retain the Z Fold 7's aspect ratio. All three phones are set to incorporate updated Snapdragon chips, with the Ultra model possibly offering faster wireless charging and a less prominent screen crease.
